Probate & Date of Death

Market value at the date of death, prepared for executors and administrators in the form HMRC expects for estate accounts.

For probate and inheritance tax the value required is the open market value on the date of death, not today's figure. We inspect the property, research sales evidence from around that date, and report the value with the reasoning behind it so it can be defended if HMRC raises questions.

Reported on the RICS Red Book basis Retrospective to the date of death Suitable for IHT400 and estate accounts
